PFERD offers a range of products suitable for various stages within the welding process. These include surface preparation such as material cleaning or bevelling, intermediate cleaning for inspection purposes as well as final weld cleaning or surface structuring. As a founding member of the Organisation for Safety of Abrasives, PFERD is committed to manufacture products that conform to tougher inspection requirements which even goes beyond international recognised safety standards.

The starter kit consists of various abrasive products required during the welding process. This includes thin cut-off wheels, Polifan flap discs in different grit sizes and forms, wire brushes suitable for angle grinders as well as handheld welders’ brushes. Suitable applications include material preparation, cleaning, and structuring. All products are conveniently packed in a sturdy, reusable and easy to and transport plastic hardcase.

Contents include:

    • 2x 115mm Conical Polifan Flap Disc in a 60 grit suitable for flat surfaces. (PFC 115 Z60 SG POWER STEELOX)
    • 1x 115mm Polifan Flap Disc in a 40 grit specially designed for fillet welds. (PFR 115-L A40 SGP CURVE ALU)
    • 1x 115mm backing pad for 115mm angle grinders with M14 spindle. (GT 115 MF M14)
    • 9x 115mm fibre discs with STEARATE anti-clogging coating for aluminium. 3x 36 grit, 3x 60 grit, 3x 80 grit. (XF 733 - 115 X 22)
    • 1x 5-pack, 100mm x 200mm scouring hand pads for manual cleaning (HAND PADS V/F A “XS” - 5PCS)
    • 10x 115mm x 1.0mm x 22.2mm cutting discs for aluminium. (EHT 115 – 1,0 SG ALU )

Operating instruction:
- Observe the recommended rotational speed – Maximum operating speed for all items suitable for angle grinders are: 80m/s or 13 300 RPM
- Only use grinding machines intended for use with the relevant tool.
- Avoid excessive side pressure and maintain a 90° cutting angle when using the cutting discs.
- Ensure correct and suitable personal protective equipment is worn while using the tool.
- Avoid material cross contamination. (Material suitability indicated on the individual products.)
